Have we ever thought of various Social, Political and Economical problem which we often face such as Corruption, Crime, Unemployment, Social Disharmony, Criminalisation of Politics, problem related to health and education facility, problems faced by farmers, environmental problems and so on ? Are these all problems are not because of vast population of this country? We have grown in such a number that the resources required to cater this population has become scare and because of this scarcity we are facing above mentioned problems.
For
the administration of such a vast population there is need of bigger
administrative establishment and I believe that as much bigger would be the
administration that much bigger would be the chances of corruption. It is
because check and balance which is institutionalized to check such a big
administrative institution become ineffective. For the effective functioning of
any check and balance it is necessary to have effective control over such
institution. But in India such check and balance are not effective enough
because it goes out of control for such check and balance to keep check over
any such institution, it is evident from the various cases of corruption and
scams which we often see in our country. And for all these problem of
corruption, it is the population of this country which is responsible.
Because
of this vast population we have not enough resources or capital so that we can
distribute such resources in the people of this country. And such scarcity of
resources leads to crime. People have no resource so that they can arrange two
times of bread and in this case they commit crime. So it is this scarcity of
resource which compel people to commit crime and the reason behind this problem
of scarcity is again, vast population of this country.
Since
we got independence indeed government have taken various measures for the
welfare of the people and development of this country. They have developed
infrastructure of health facility, education facility, transport facility,
communication facility etc. But when we look at these all facility today, we
find it insufficient. We always have scarcity of hospitals, doctors, schools,
colleges, roads other transport facility etc. Why is it so? It is because of
vast population of this country.
Unemployment
is one of the most important problem of this country. Mainly two kind of
unemployment is found in India i.e. Structural and Disguised. Structural
unemployment is found because of scarcity of capital, Indian economy does not
find sufficient capital to expend its industries to such an extent that the
entire labour force is absorbed. Similarly Disguised unemployment is because of
reducing per-capita land holding for cultivation. A large number of labour are
engaged in small land holding for production than are really needed and because
of this the marginal product of labour in agriculture is often negligible. But
still people are forced to work in agriculture sector because of lack of
opportunity in manufacture sector and manufacture sector is not developed
enough because of lack of capital and lack of capital is because of lack of
saving by the people and lack of saving is because of lack of scarcity of
resources in the country and lack resources is because of the vast population
of this country.
People
of a populated country are more vulnerable to be misguided or misused as we
often see communal riots, mob lynching. People are always ready to be misused
or misguided in the name of religion, race, cast, language and land. It is very
easy to keep such population in various kinds of illusion. It is this illusion
that force people to elect people who have no respect in democratic ethos and
constitution. And all these leads to various social problems such as social
disharmony, communal feeling, sub nationalism, class war, secessionism feeling
etc. And all these happens because of illiteracy, unemployment, poverty,
misadministration, lack of right information, lack of awareness etc .It is this
unawareness on the part of the people that criminalisation of politics take
place. And the root cause of all these problem is population.
Environment
performs mainly four vital function i.e. 1.It supplies resources both renewable
and non renewable. 2.It assimilates waste. 3.It sustain life by providing
genetic and bio diversity and 4.Provides aesthetic services like scenery. But
when the demand of these functions goes beyond the carrying capacity of
environment or assimilating capacity of environment, it results in an
environmental crisis. We find it into the form of air, water sound pollution,
global warming, cyclone, deforestation, desertification, flood and so on. All
these can be seen in India also and the root cause of all these environmental
problems is our vast population.
I
mean to say that all the social, political, economical and environmental problem which we face today or various other
potential problem which is about to come is because of our fast growing
population. The growth of our population could be understood by the fact that
our population was about 238 million in 1901 and today we are 1210 million (as per 2011
census) rather approx 1.36 billion. Hence considering all above mentioned facts
we need to be understood that instead of waiting for government action every
people of this country will have to come forward and take action to tackle this
problem of population explosion so that it could not become too late. I am not
suggesting any measure it is up to you, how you
tackle this problem. As an aware citizen of this country I am trying to
make you people aware of this problem now it is your turn.
